COVID-19 RESPONSE

Unfortunately, after a promising restarts, our Guided Walks Events have now been cancelled for the rest of 2020.  We hope to restart our Walks on 1st January 2020.  Booking will be ESSENTIAL.

Please note that some walks may not take place due to Covid-19. We will be reviewing our programme monthly. Please check back here for updates.

A good place to start your visit to the Forest

The Visitor Centre has now re-opened!

The Visitor Centre is situated at a traditional beauty spot in the Forest, with many forest trails, picnic areas, refreshments and an Easy Access Path. The Epping Forest Heritage Trust has operated the Centre on behalf of the Conservators (City of London) since April 5, 2014 and has now provided for over 100,000 visitors!

In the Centre there are Volunteer Assistants on hand to help you make the most of your visit.

At the Centre you will find:

  • Children’s activities, including brass rubbings, quizzes and more
  • Maps, Forest exhibition and gift shop
  • Close up viewing of birds at our feeding station

Regrettably, due to COVID, our gift shop, children’s activities and events are not currently available.
