Unfortunately, after a promising restart, our Guided Walks Programme has now been cancelled.  Why not try one of the waymarked trails?  Maps can be found here.  We hope to restart our Walks in March 2021.  Booking will be ESSENTIAL.

We will be reviewing our programme monthly. Please check back here for updates.

Please note we have also had to close the Visitor Centre at High Beach.

A good place to start your visit to the Forest

The Visitor Centre is situated at a traditional beauty spot in the Forest, with many forest trails, picnic areas, refreshments and an Easy Access Path. The Epping Forest Heritage Trust has operated the Centre on behalf of the Conservators (City of London) since April 5, 2014 and has now provided for over 100,000 visitors!

In the Centre there are Volunteer Assistants on hand to help you make the most of your visit.

At the Centre you will find:

  • Children’s activities, including brass rubbings, quizzes and more
  • Maps, Forest exhibition and gift shop
  • Close up viewing of birds at our feeding station

Regrettably, due to COVID, our gift shop, children’s activities and events are not currently available.
