Calling for new volunteers!

We are continuing with the operation of the Visitor Centre at High Beach and would welcome a few new volunteer Information Assistants. Most volunteers come 2 days a month, operating from 10 until 3. Training and a uniform are provided and you would be working with like-minded people, passionate about the Forest and keen to share it with others.

We are also looking for additional walk leaders. Perhaps you know an area of the Forest really  well or maybe you simply enjoy walking in the Forest and would be pleased to share your enthusiasm. We’ll also be reviewing how we deliver walks, making it a particularly good time to come on board.

For further information, get in touch via volunteering@efht.org.uk, or calling the office on 020 8508 9061

Welcome to Epping Forest Heritage Trust

We are working to ensure that Epping Forest remains secure as a natural environment rich in wildlife, available and increasingly appreciated and valued by the public.

As a charity focused on the whole of the Forest, we are dedicated to preserving this amazing and historic Forest, enabling people to engage with it, enjoy it, learn about it, becoming a ‘friend’ of the Forest.

We strive to promote access, understanding and interest in the Forest through events, occasional publications, talks, operating the Visitor Centre at High Beach and leading practical conservation work activities. We support groups with special educational needs, volunteers and community groups; including adults and young people.

How can you help?

Epping Forest Heritage Trust is supported by our membership, volunteers, donations and grants.

People volunteer for all sorts of reasons.  The Green Team values volunteering because:

  • We improve habitats for wildlife
  • We want to give something back to the Forest
  • We enjoy making new friends
  • We get fit!

Which of those reasons makes sense to you? Click here to find out more about volunteering.
